The President

  •  The President (a short story)   Does a president who has committed atrocities, murdered his rivals and oppressed his people sleep soundly at night or does he have nightmares and is he haunted by the ghosts of the people he has killed?

Based on the idea that the Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe is haunted by the ghost of his dead comrade Josiah Tongogara, this story explores all the rumours about this ailing dictator: is he at all affected by the deaths of the thousands of people he has had murdered? Did he have his rivals killed in ‘car accidents?’ Do the ghosts of those in mineshafts from the Gukurahundi rise up to accuse him?
